Bible reading today: Jeremiah 10 and 11, Psalm 73: 15-28, Proverbs 21, Acts 2.
Today’s scripture verse: Acts 17: 24-25. The God who made the world and everything in it—he is Lord of heaven and earth—does not live in shrines made by hands. Neither is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives everyone life and breath and all things.
In an attempt to better understand man, it must originate with the Revelation of God, and not the internal or external condition or circumstance. It is God and only God that knows man, and it must be God that informs man of the facts regarding him. I have said many times in other writings that God is the only one that knows the true capability of man and what he is able to accomplish in his original perfect state of existence. Sin has destroyed all this. Without the definitive Word from God, man is left to struggle in the midst of questions and doubt, with no hope of insight and no hope of improvement. For there to be understanding, God must speak and man must listen. Man is a creature and created by God. Simple facts about man are found throughout the Scriptures and form the foundation of truth that lead to further investigation. Without these truths in place there is not even a partial bit of understanding. Jesus came to connect us to God the Father, through Jesus we have understanding, that He died in our place and through Him is our salvation.
