Today’s Scripture:

Second Corinthians 5: 17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Romans 6:4

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

It is hard to believe that 2019 has come, and gone.  I reflect back on the year, and ask myself, “What did I accomplish?”  I kept the faith, I went to church, I finished a new book, preached some new messages, and fell broken for the lost, those who do not know Jesus as their savior, and Lord.  The scripture today talks of, “being in Christ” and “being a new creation, old things have passed away,” and when you believe on Jesus, believing in His death, burial, and resurrection, believing in your heart Jesus, and trusting Him, asking for forgiveness, repenting of your sins then, “behold all things become new.”  Being baptized, “we are buried with Him into death,” and just as Christ was raised from the dead we to are raised from the baptismal waters to walk “in newness of life.”  The bible says that through Jesus we are placed in heavenly places even though we are still alive here on earth.

Ephesians 2: 4-7 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

As we begin this New Year I pray that each, and every one will be convicted by God’s Holy Spirit, and call upon Him, repenting of sin, and accepting the free gift of Jesus Christ, gaining the eternal reward of eternal life.  What better way to start off the New Year believing, and trusting Jesus, “becoming a new creation, letting the old things pass away.”  Today you need to declare your desire to become a child of God, His love is never ending for you.  Jesus suffered and died for our sin, paying the sin debt that we would never be able to pay.   Love Jesus repent and be saved.
